Meet the characters



Bethany Roberts



Bethany is an art student. Just turned eighteen, she left Greater Scotland to study at the illustrious Paris College of Art. Once there, she soon realises she has powers that make her special, though not unique.



Yevgeny Arafyev



Yevgeny works for the Russian Church as a spy. Whilst continents are prohibited from contacting each other, people like him do what they need to for the greater glory of God.



Wikus de Klerk



Wikus has led an unusual life. He was just a kid when the world threw nuclear bombs at itself, but videos at the time nagged him. He saw things that couldn't have happened: magical things. Now, he wants that power for himself.



Engameli



The continent of Africa survived unscathed during the holocaust, which allowed it to flourish. After years of programming by Wikus, Engameli became the first AI construct to become president of the Federation of Africa.



Elisabetta Montanari



Also known simply as "Madam", Elisabetta is in charge of the Department of Mystical Anomalies. It's her job to discover what magic can do, but also to keep it secret at all costs.



Fayette Fernandez



Fay has led a hard life in Paris. Born with a twisted leg, Fay discovers she can do magic when she's angry. She's also sexy as hell, and she's proud of it.



Amadou Laffitte



Amadou is the Head of Special Operations at the Department of Mystical Anomalies. He trains new recruits as well as taking on whatever military jobs Madam requires.



Rafael Schmitz



An old head on young shoulders, Rafael leads a small rag-tag group of magic-users in Paris. He also has a secret of his own.
