Following on from Hew's adventures in The Child of Fire and Earth, Elinor receives a mysterious message to return back home and bring Hew with her.

Soon she and her friends become framed for the theft of the elve's most precious artifact, the Dragonstone. Desperate to proove their innocence, Hew embarks on his most dangerous quest yet, where even the mighty Zelina cannot help him.
